According to the Global Innovation Index 2025 published on 16 September 2025 by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), Switzerland, Sweden, the United States, South Korea, and Singapore occupy the top five positions in the ranking.
They are ahead of the United Kingdom, Finland, the Netherlands, Denmar,k and China, which has entered the top 10 most innovative countries for the first time. The report also highlights a slowdown in the growth of investment in innovation, which could hamper global innovation prospects.
