Effective 8 October 2026, Saudi Arabia will officially join the Madrid System for the International Registration of Trademarks, making it the 133rd member of the system.
In practical terms, it will now be possible to designate Saudi Arabia in your applications for international trademark registration, thereby opening access to a new and potentially strategic market.
If you already hold an international registration, you will also be able to extend your protection to this country by making a subsequent designation.
As with other member states, this approach offers two advantages: lower costs than a direct national application and simplified management of your trademark portfolio.
