In Europe: The European Patent Office (EPO) has announced that most of its procedural fees will increase by approximately 5% on April 1, 2026.
This increase will apply in particular to search, examination, designation, and grant fees, as well as annual fees.
It is therefore advisable to bring forward, as much as possible, any procedures and payments that can be, including annual fees.
In the United Kingdom: As we previously informed you, effective April 1, 2026, all applicable fees in the United Kingdom will increase significantly, with estimated increases of between 20% and 25% for patents, trademarks, and designs. It should be noted that these fees had remained stable for several years.
In Monaco: The Monaco Intellectual Property Office has announced an increase of approximately 10% in patent and trademark renewal fees effective April 1, 2026. Only the second and third annual fees are exempt from this increase.
